You might need more flexibility in your config options, especially for 3D design, but otherwise, the Mac Pro is as solid a professional-class PC as we've seen.

Apple introduces Logic Studio Pro with Logic Pro 8

Apple has unveiled Logic Studio, a suite of tools that for musicians with which to "create, produce and perform in the studio and on the stage." Priced at AU$649, the package includes Logic Pro 8, a significant upgrade that includes a new interface and introduces MainStage, a new live performance application. Also included is Soundtrack Pro 2, Apple's audio post production software; Studio Instruments, made up of 40 instruments; Studio Effects, with 80 effect plug-ins; a Studio Sound Library; and other production utilities.

Apple unleashes new Xserve, Mac Pro
