ThinkSecret settle legal dispute with Apple and shut down

December 21st, 2007 by Brendon Chase

thinksecret.pngApple and the popular rumor site for Mac users, ThinkSecret, have reached a settlement whereby the site will cease to publish content.

Apple originally filed a suit in 2005 after the Web site published details of the Mac Mini two weeks before the product was launched.

As part of the settlement no sources of the story in 2005 were revealed according to a statement on the ThinkSecret site.

ThinkSecret's publisher, Nick Ciarelli, said he plans to move on.

"I'm pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits," he said in his statement.
