Video: Sharing iPod content without a computer
December 4th, 2007 by Brendon Chase
One of the biggest pain points of owning an iPod is the lack of support to share content with another iPod easily. Enter the miShare, a nifty device which allows users to exchange content on the run without the need of a computer.
The miShare dock connector allows users to secure two iPods together to share songs, videos, photos, and other disk information back and forth with the click of a button. Under the hood the miShare is essentially a stripped down version of the Linux operating system and views the connected iPods as USB storage disks.
However, this isn't a device for music pirates on the run. The miShare does not unlock files of DRM. These files can be copied and authorised according to the rights of the song(s) transferred. Usually in iTunes you'll need to authorise these files via connecting an iPod to the iTunes application and entering the correct password.
According to the creators, miShare works with most iPod models except the Shuffle, 1st and 2nd generation iPods, and does not currently support the iPhone or iPod touch -- though they are working on a firmware upgrade.
At the time of writing the makers of the miShare don't have a local retailer but the product is being shipped from the USA for US$99 (shipped excluded) which is a pretty good deal with the currrent Australian exchange rate.

Sherene, did you get an email receipt when you bought the product. I am assuming it is an iTunes voucher. I would suggest you reply back to the email you received when you bought the itunes voucher and explain the situation.
