In brief Newly merged mobile telco VHA has announced it will extend Vodafone's iPhone 3G S to 3 Mobile Australia customers, who have previously not been able to buy an iPhone through its telco.

The iPhone offer is the first example of the company utilising its newly extended retail network following the completion of the Vodafone Hutchison merger and is the first time 3 customers will be offered the iPhone.

"It's very exciting to be introducing it to 3 customers for the first time," VHA's chief Nigel Dews said in a statement.

Hutchison's 3 added around 2 million to VHA while Vodafone's contributed 4 million customers, representing 27 per cent of the Australian mobile market.

Pricing has yet to be determined for the new model, which is due to hit Australia on 26 June. Apple today released its OS 3.0 update.
